8046 Zürich \| 100-100% This is your contribution <br /> • Technical and administrative leadership of the research group Extension Vegetable Production (organization, finance, personnel) as well as overall responsibility for aligning activities with practical needs and the scientific excellence of the group • Overall responsibility and central contact person for questions and practical research in open-field vegetable production at Agroscope; establishment and leadership of interdisciplinary project teams with representatives from the relevant Agroscope areas and external partners • Responsibility for the acquisition of projects and third-party funds from competitive funding programs, industry, and other donors • Responsibility for knowledge exchange with vegetable production practice and consultancy, for further public relations, and for creating specific practical vegetable production reports, particularly regarding plant protection • Representation of Agroscope in national and international committees and organizations for the purpose of networking and expanding practical vegetable production expertise <br /> What makes you unique <br /> • Doctorate in agricultural sciences with a focus on plant cultivation/horticulture (or comparable training) as well as proven research experience in these areas, ideally in practical multi-actor projects • Experience in vegetable production practice or similar production branches • Extensive professional network in the field of plant and vegetable production as well as sound knowledge of the framework conditions of Swiss plant production • Strong leadership competence, strong team spirit, and convincing communication skills • Very good knowledge of two official languages and English in speaking and writing <br /> In a nutshell A strong-willed personality is sought who combines scientific expertise with concrete agricultural practical experience and strategically aligns practical research in open-field vegetable production along the priorities of practice, develops concrete practical solutions, develops answers to political questions, and thus contributes to the strengthening of vegetable production in Switzerland.
