HPC-Plattformmanager/-in und Softwareentwickler/-in Zürich-Flughafen, Schweiz (und Homeoffice) | 80-100% This is what you can achieve Ensure the use of the HPC platform (CSCS) for MeteoSchweiz applications and drive its further development together with internal and external partners Take up, prioritize and represent requirements from operations, research and development to the CSCS, and coordinate improvements regarding performance, stability and scalability Develop and adapt components of numerical weather forecasting systems as well as the associated workflow and data infrastructure to new technological requirements Support and advise scientists in the areas of software development, HPC usage and operations Ensure the reliable operation of business-critical production systems (including best-effort interventions and third-level support) What makes you unique Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Science or related field Several years of practical experience in software engineering, preferably with modern software development practices and cloud-native architectures Experience in operating and further developing high-performance computing environments and complex data and software workflows Ability to take up technical requirements of different stakeholders, prioritize them and implement them with internal and external partners Good knowledge of at least two official languages and English In a nutshell As part of an agile and motivated team, you will take on a key role in platform management of the CSCS infrastructure for MeteoSchweiz. Together with internal and external partners, you will ensure the reliable and efficient use of the platform, coordinate the requirements of operations and development with the CSCS, and contribute to the further development of production systems and software components of numerical weather forecasting. Within the operations team, you will also be involved in the operation and monitoring of business-critical production systems.
