For our performance laboratory in Zürich, we are looking for a Traction Test Engineer (m/f/d). In this exciting position, you will be part of our engineering team and take on a central role in the testing and validation of modern electric drive systems for rail vehicles.

Your Mission

As a Traction Test Engineer, you will work in a highly qualified team responsible for the testing and validation of traction and auxiliary power systems.

The transformation towards sustainable mobility is leading to an increasing demand for high-performance rail transport solutions worldwide. The testing phase is a crucial component of our projects. It combines technical challenges with practical engineering work and offers the opportunity to actively help shape the performance, reliability and safety of our products.

Your Tasks

In our modern test center in Zürich, you will take on a central role in the validation and further development of innovative traction systems. You will work on state-of-the-art power electronics, perform demanding tests and contribute to ensuring that our products meet the highest requirements for performance, reliability and safety. In doing so, you will combine practical laboratory work with systematic analysis and actively help shape the mobility of tomorrow.

You will:

• Test and validate traction and auxiliary power converters
• Set up and commission electric drivetrains as well as the required test bench and laboratory environment
• Perform electrical, thermal, functional and performance tests
• Analyze measurement results, identify causes of errors and support their rectification
• Work closely with development, software and system engineers
• Qualify and evaluate power semiconductors (e.g. IGBT and SiC technologies) for existing and future applications in rail drive technology
• Participate in the introduction and validation of new semiconductor technologies for innovative traction systems
• Take responsibility for the electrical setup as well as the safe execution of tests
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes and test methods

Your Profile

• Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, software engineering or a comparable field of study
• Practical experience in the electrical engineering environment is essential; a completed vocational training in the field of electrical engineering, electronics, automation technology or mechatronics is expressly preferred
• Enthusiasm for power electronics and new semiconductor technologies as well as interest in actively helping to shape their use in future applications.
• Enjoyment of practical laboratory work and dealing with complex technical systems
• High sense of responsibility and independent way of working
• Curiosity, willingness to learn and the motivation to accept technical challenges
• Ability to implement tasks in a solution-oriented manner and deliver results
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Very good German skills as well as ideally good English skills
