In the Federal Asylum Center, people often encounter the Swiss healthcare system for the first time. Complaints are not yet clarified, previous findings are missing, and medical priorities must be assessed quickly. You, as a nursing professional, take on exactly this task: you assess situations, make initial clinical decisions, and manage the next treatment steps. The activity combines medical responsibility with oversight, outside of classic ward operations and with time for well-founded assessments. To supplement our nursing team in the Federal Asylum Centers in the Bern region, we are looking for a nursing professional at 80-100% immediately or by arrangement. What we offer • Regulated working hours Monday to Friday (approx. 08:00-17:00) • No night or weekend shifts • Medical responsibility without the permanent time pressure of everyday hospital life • Cooperation in an interdisciplinary team instead of classic ward operations • Insights into different locations and processes within the Bern region • Additional vacation days or flexible time off for important life events possible • Reliable planning and long-term compatibility of professional and private life Your responsibilities ## • You carry out structured initial assessments and prioritize health complaints according to urgency • You coordinate necessary medical assessments with general practitioners, hospitals, and specialist centers • You take over simple nursing interventions as well as initial care in emergency situations • You advise care teams on medical questions and provide support in dealing with health topics • You document findings traceably and ensure the flow of information to external service providers • You accompany the course of treatment and review the effectiveness of initiated measures Your profile ## • Completed training as a certified nursing professional HF/FH or FaGe • Professional experience in an acute medical environment and confidence in clinical assessment • Independent, structured way of working as well as enjoyment of coordinating activities • Calm handling of complex situations and different cultural backgrounds • Very good German skills in speaking and writing (at least C1) • English skills for communication in everyday life (at least B1), other languages - especially French - are an advantage Why this task is special You remain professionally in your role, but regain freedom of action.
