For the Werterhaltung business unit, we are looking for reinforcement due to the retirement of the current job holder starting April 1, 2027, or by arrangement.

Tasks ##

• Strategic, personnel and organizational leadership and further development of the Ausführung specialist department with around 95 employees and apprentices across four Werkhöfe, as well as leadership of the organization across several hierarchical levels; overall responsibility for occupational safety, health protection and fleet management
• Ensuring a service-oriented organization and execution of structural maintenance work, upgrading measures, winter service and other structural and operational measures on public land
• Development and implementation of the strategic orientation of the specialist department in line with the overarching goals of the Tiefbauamt and the Stadt Zürich, as well as early recognition of relevant developments and needs for action
• Continuous further development and optimization of activities and processes based on the client-provider principle according to the principles of sustainable development, circular economy and Netto Null, with support from progressive digitalization, as well as the introduction and implementation of current trends
• Responsibility for personnel and succession planning, personnel development and recruitment across all hierarchical levels, as well as leadership and participation in interdisciplinary steering committees, projects and working groups on topics of the specialist department and beyond

Profile ##

• Higher education (HF, FH or ETH) in construction/planning with supplementary business administration and leadership training
• Forward-looking and service-oriented personality with many years of practical experience in leading larger organizations
• Proven technical and methodological competence in road/civil engineering and in the upgrading of public spaces
• Willingness to take on topic responsibility, lead strategic topics and project management of very demanding cross-sectional tasks such as planning and execution of urban greenery, upgrading or mobility measures
• High social and communication competence, proficient German in speaking and writing, high sense of responsibility, strong independence and a credible role model function
