Commercial Finance Partner CSD Global Cocoa
Zurich, CH, 8005
About the position
Reporting to the VP, CFO Global Cocoa, this position is the right hand of the VP, Cocoa Manufacturing, driving the decision-making process by focusing on the financial performance of operations as well as the supply chain. It aims to identify and implement growth and value opportunities for Global Cocoa regarding manufacturing costs and operational efficiency. It also supports financial reporting, planning, and analysis, including in-depth "make or buy" analyses. This position is a key player in defining Global Cocoa's medium and long-term strategy regarding footprint and cost leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a strategic advisory interface for the company and management on issues related to Customer Supply & Development (CSD), and act specifically as the right hand of the VP, Cocoa Manufacturing, in close cooperation with the CSD CFO and the Global Cocoa CFO
- In addition to global guidance, the CSD Finance BP is also directly responsible for the West Europe Cocoa region, supported by 3 direct reports
- Provide financial analyses before and during the global S&OP process, notably on defining the most cost-effective production site globally and the comparison with external product purchasing (make or buy decision)
- Lead the creation of a cost data repository for logistics and factory costs to always make decisions based on the most recent information
- Support capacity expansion projects and footprint studies
- Maintain the End-to-End Liquor profitability model to determine the correct benchmark for future business cases and allow a consolidated view of Global Cocoa's profitability
- Create financial transparency in cross-functional cost efficiency projects from an E2E perspective (Sourcing, Logistics, Manufacturing, R&D, Pricing)
- Given the importance of raw material costs, strong attention is paid to yields (seeds, pressing) and waste reduction. Ensure that yields are up to date with the risk teams for appropriate raw material coverage
- Close collaboration with pricing teams to ensure that the pricing tool is loaded with the correct costs (including yields).
- Lead the monthly analysis of logistics cost factors compared to costs invoiced to customers, thereby indicating optimization opportunities
- In collaboration with FP&A (Group and Regional FP&A), provide analyses and insights on global CSD costs for Global Cocoa, notably on a forward-looking basis (rolling forecast)
- Define the right cost targets for budget and competitiveness, monitor and evaluate performance against budget and the previous year, identify risks and opportunities, review results, and develop mitigation actions with on-site Finance BPs and plant management teams
- Work with local CSD FBPs to ensure that stock management and inventory processes are correctly performed, including the application of rigorous order management
- Lead the Global Cocoa CSD Finance team - this involves having the right profiles in the role and ensuring they bring the right financial understanding to the local management team through coaching, development, and challenging
