Project Manager Drainage Planning / Hydraulics, 80-100 %

With us, you will take on a technically demanding key role in the sustainable development of Zurich's infrastructure. You will ensure that rainwater is managed sustainably, sewer systems are planned with foresight, and urban construction projects are optimally accompanied, thus ensuring long-term value retention of the drainage network. We are looking for reinforcement starting immediately at the Werdhölzli location in Zürich Altstetten.

Tasks ##

• You lead demanding sewer construction projects in the drainage business unit and actively help shape the future-oriented rainwater management of the city of Zurich.
• You assess sewer construction projects, analyze hydraulic relationships, and conduct technical negotiations with internal departments as well as external partners.
• You develop concepts, strategies, and decision-making bases for hydraulic, structural, and planning issues, using modern analysis and simulation tools.
• You make an important contribution to the further development of the General Drainage Plan (GEP), maintain hydrodynamic models, and coordinate the services of external specialist planners.
• You work on a project-related as well as interdisciplinary basis in close cooperation with the Civil Engineering Office, other municipal service departments, and internal working groups.

Profile ##

• Civil, cultural, or environmental engineer (FH / Uni / ETH)
• In-depth knowledge in hydraulics, urban drainage, and GEP processing, as well as sound experience with hydrodynamic simulation programs and knowledge of databases, ideally scripting languages (e.g., Python)
• Several years of professional experience in the planning, design, and realization of municipal civil engineering and/or in urban drainage
• Business fluent German in spoken and written form (Level C1)
• Independent and structured way of working, strong stakeholder management, and enjoyment of technically complex issues and their implementation
