Daycare Center Manager*

With around 2200 employees, the Social Department of the City of Zurich works every day for a social Zurich. To accompany and promote small children in the important first years of their development and thereby give them a good foundation for their future life: we are committed to this with great engagement. The childcare division of the Social Institutions and Operations operates 11 Kitas in the City of Zurich, a crisis intervention and a residential group for toddlers, a family meeting point, and "supervised visitation offers" at two locations for families in conflictive separation situations. In the Kita Birch, 36 daycare places for children are offered, including places for children with special care requirements. Cross-group work, where children from a wide variety of cultures can discover the world by incorporating aspects of early childhood education, care, and upbringing, forms the pedagogical focus. In the north of the City of Zurich - in Seebach - we are opening the Kita Birch in spring 2027 with three groups for children from 3 months up to kindergarten entry. We are looking for a motivated, energetic personality as of 1 October 2026, who, with a focus on early childhood education, will participate in the construction and co-design of the Kita from the very beginning. Daycare Center Manager* ## 60-80 % Tasks • You take over the pedagogical, personnel, and organizational leadership of the Kita Birch within the framework of the overarching conceptual and structural specifications. • You take over tasks in the area of quality assurance, further development, and implementation of the pedagogical concepts or offers and participate in cross-kita working groups. • You work closely with parents as well as with actors from the neighborhood. • You are responsible for organizational, planning, maintenance, and controlling tasks. • You participate in projects and develop concepts. Profile • Education in Childhood Pedagogy HF, Social Pedagogy/Social Work HF/FH or comparable degree as well as experience in the management of a Kita and corresponding further training in the field of management/leadership • Experience in situation- and education-oriented Kita pedagogy (BuLG, infans, situational approach, Pikler) • Joy in self-organized and structured working • Independent, communicative, and resilient personality who likes to take responsibility.
