With around 1400 employees, Justizvollzug und Wiedereingliederung (JuWe) is the largest office within the Direktion der Justiz und des Innern and is responsible for the execution of sentences and measures as well as for the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of convicted people and commit themselves effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.

Die Justizvollzugsanstalt Pöschwies (JVA) is one of eight main departments of JuWe and the largest closed facility for men in Switzerland. With around 400 detention places and approximately 300 employees, it contributes to the protection of the general public according to its legal mandate and simultaneously creates the prerequisites for the resocialization of the incarcerated persons.

We are looking for a resilient personality with very high social competence starting December 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
Together with your experienced professional colleagues, you will supervise and support the incarcerated persons in the basket and wicker workshop.

Your tasks ###

• Professional instruction, supervision and promotion of a group of incarcerated persons in everyday work life
• Responsibility for order and security as well as helping to shape a structured working day
• Planning and coordination of individual employment assignments, taking into account the abilities and resources of the incarcerated persons
• Writing reports and assessments on the development and behavior of the incarcerated persons
• Commitment as an active member of the plant fire brigade

Your profile ###

• A basic vocational training (EFZ), for example as a carpenter, woodworker, saddler or upholsterer
• Professional experience in a craft environment as well as interest in work-agogic work with people
• Team-oriented, flexible and resilient personality with a positive and appreciative basic attitude
• Further training as a specialist in justice custody; additional training in work-agogics is an advantage
• Good German skills in speaking and writing as well as proficient MS-Office skills; further language skills are a plus
• Minimum age 30 years as well as a clean record (no entries in the criminal and debt enforcement register)
