The fields of study and research include artistic education, design, film, fine arts, music, dance, theatre, and transdisciplinarity. The school includes many exhibition and performance venues where students' project work is presented to the public. • The Department of Performing Arts and Film currently trains approximately 170 young dancers. Dance training includes, with the Tanz Akademie Zürich (taZ), the "Grundstudium Klassischer Tanz" as basic training for children and adolescents as well as professional apprenticeship (EFZ) in classical stage dance. At the university level, the BA Contemporary Dance curricula as well as the MA Dance with specializations in Choreography or Teaching and Coaching of Dance Professionals are offered. In the Bachelor Contemporary Dance curriculum, created in 2014, national and international talents develop within a three-year study program to become professional contemporary stage dancers. The articulation between individual support, professional networking, and health responsibility makes this training a training of excellence. For the artistic, pedagogical, and organizational direction of the study program, we are looking for as of 1 February 2027 a Head: BA Contemporary Dance Major (70 %), m/f/d # Your tasks as Head BA Contemporary Dance Major 50 % • Development and design of the study program (artistic, pedagogical, structural) in close collaboration with the Head of Dance • Responsibility for the curriculum, study planning, and study paths • Direction of teaching and research staff as well as study coordination • Organization and guarantee of the functioning of teaching, including productions and projects • Responsibility for admission procedures (auditions) and diplomas • Advising and accompanying students throughout the curriculum • Planning and coordination of internships in Switzerland and abroad • Responsibility for the budget and resource planning • Quality assurance and strategic development of the program • Representation of the program internally and externally as well as maintaining networks Your tasks as a contemporary dance teacher 20 % • Transmission of dance technique in the field of contemporary dance within the study program • Direction of rehearsals as well as choreographic accompaniment of a varied contemporary repertoire Your profile You are passionate about contemporary dance and wish to assume responsibility for sustainable training for young talents. You possess a university degree at master's level or an equivalent qualification as well as international artistic recognition in contemporary dance with an excellent network. Furthermore, you have several years of professional and management experience, ideally in a university context. You bring pronounced organizational and managerial skills and efficiently manage complex processes. You work in a structured, prospective, and autonomous manner. You have excellent knowledge of German and English. You also possess solid computer skills. In addition, you distinguish yourself by strong social, communication, and negotiation skills, as well as your ability to work in and integrate into a team, your stress resistance, and your assertiveness. Presence on site in Zurich is required for the exercise of this function.
