Radio LoRa is a local radio station for the Greater Zurich area, with international reach via internet stream. Radio LoRa broadcasts with a vision for an egalitarian, solidarity-based, feminist, decolonial, and non-violent society. With over 120 programs in 21 languages, we are characterized by cultural and linguistic diversity. Radio LoRa offers an experimental field for new and unconventional radio formats. The selection of music, topics, and voices evades the mainstream and shapes the identity of the broadcaster. To support our team, we are looking for an Employee*in Technology - Operation and Support 30% immediately or by agreement. Objective of the position Ensuring the technical day-to-day operations in the radio and studio environment: functioning studios, technical support for employees, as well as maintenance and care of the infrastructure and production technology. Since the position works closely with our feminist editorial team RADIA and supports feminist events and special programs, we are particularly pleased to receive applications from FLINTA persons. Willingness to learn, team spirit, and interest in self-managed feminist media work are just as important to us as technical prior knowledge. Areas of responsibility *Studio & Radio Operation* • Inspection, maintenance, and upkeep of the studios and studio bus technology • Technical support during ongoing broadcasting; troubleshooting for studio, audio, and production problems • Support for live broadcasts and external events • Setting up demo technology, minor repairs, and technical adjustments *Support & Care* • Technical support for employees, committees, program makers, and interns • Technical coordination and support for projects and in the studio routine • Reactive problem-solving for disruptions to devices, drives, audio, and network systems • Technical accompaniment of feminist programs (Mondays and partly Tuesdays) projects, events, and special formats in cooperation with the feminist editorial team *Technical Material & Infrastructure* • Overview and inventory of rental material; maintenance of mobile technology and accessories • Preparation of technology for productions and events, in cooperation with the other coordinations • Maintenance and organization of technical work areas; device tests, batteries, cable management Requirements • Experience in the field of audio, studio, or event technology • Good technical problem-solving skills; independent and structured way of working • Flexible and calm reaction to technical disruptions; communication and team skills • Basic knowledge of network and computer systems is an advantage • Confident handling of the German language (additional languages are an advantage) • Willingness to work irregular hours, holidays, and weekends • LoRa has a strong local connection on the one hand and often requires spontaneous deployments on the other. Therefore, the new person should live in or around Zurich. Character of the position • Operative and practical, with a high proportion of support and troubleshooting • Varied, partly reactive everyday life, which requires quick prioritization and reaction - in close cooperation with operation, editorial team, and projects. At LoRa, you are part of a committed small team in a dynamic work environment with a centrally located office/studio at Militärstrasse 85a. Your job is very versatile and varied, you contribute with your work to the fact that many exciting programs and important political, social, and musical content can be disseminated. Your working time is based on an annual target (40-hour week at 100%), the basic salary is CHF 5200.- gross for 100% at 13 months per year, and you benefit from seven weeks of vacation instead of the statutory holidays.
