Social Worker 80 - 100% # Justizvollzug und Wiedereingliederung (JuWe) is, as part of the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zürich, responsible for the execution of sentences and measures as well as the implementation of the various types of detention. For our 1'400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of convicted persons and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance. Die Hauptabteilung Vollzugseinrichtungen Zürich (VEZ) - one of eight main departments of JuWe - comprises four facilities with different types of detention and manages approximately 450 incarcerated persons with over 180 employees. Das Gefängnis Affoltern am Albis with 65 detention places and around 30 employees specializes in the execution of sentences or remaining sentences of no more than 18 months. In addition to the concept of group detention, which aims at increased individual responsibility of the incarcerated persons, a level-appropriate school education (BiSt) is offered. As of 1 August 2026 or by arrangement, we are looking for an experienced and socially competent personality for our social service. This is your area of activity ### • You activate and promote incarcerated persons with special needs through individual daily structures in the special department as well as in normal detention • You take over the case management for the incarcerated persons assigned to you and develop adequate detention plans within the framework of possibilities and specifications • Administrative tasks, such as writing various reports • Based on the intervention recommendation of the Risikoorientierten Sanktionenvollzugs (ROS), you work with the incarcerated persons on resources and problem areas • You prepare detention relaxations (e.g., leave of absence systems) • You actively shape the interdisciplinary cooperation with internal and external work partners • Participation in team meetings, working groups and projects What you bring with you ### • You have a FH or HF degree in social pedagogy or social work and ideally demonstrate experience in the areas of sentence or measure execution, addiction treatment or psychiatry • You enjoy contact, professional discussion and joint activities with people of diverse cultural and social backgrounds or psychiatric clinical pictures • You work in a team-oriented manner, are resilient and flexible. Furthermore, you possess great personal responsibility and social competence • You see conflicts and resistance as an opportunity for personal development and reflection • You can express yourself very well in German, both in writing and orally.
