Team Leader Social Assistance and Adult Protection

With around 2400 employees, the Social Department of the City of Zurich works every day for a social Zurich. Through their work in the five social centers, the Social Services ensure that the people in the City of Zurich can rely on effective basic social services. The Social Services of the City of Zurich are in an exciting phase of development. New forms of working, cooperation in social-work-administrative tandems, and a modern case system characterize our everyday work and open up new possibilities for effective and efficient service delivery. Due to a retirement, we are looking for an engaged and strong-leadership personality for the management of a team in the adult profile for the Sozialzentrum Helvetiaplatz, starting January 2027. In this function, you will further develop your team, accompany change processes, and set impulses for the professional and organizational further development of the area. Team Leader Social Assistance and Adult Protection 80-90 % Tasks • You lead a team of 12 social workers personally as well as professionally and manage the internal processes in the adult profile of the Sozialzentrum Helvetiaplatz. • You support your employees in operational service delivery in the management of civil law mandates in adult protection as well as social assistance (economic assistance and personal assistance) and ensure uniform implementation of guidelines, quality, and professionalism in the fulfillment of the basic mandate in the adult profile. • You live the leadership concept of the Social Services, accompany the team through changes, provide orientation in the working environment, and help them find a way to deal with complexity and information density. • You contribute to the professional strengthening of the profile in the Social Services by bringing professional development impulses into the relevant specialist committees. Profile • University degree in Social Work with subject-specific additional training as well as leadership training • Several years of leadership experience in a social institution including professional support and promotion of employees • In-depth knowledge in the management of civil law mandates in adult protection and/or confident handling of SKOS, SHG, and ZGB • Proficient German in speaking and writing for precise documentation and secure communication in committees • High resilience, a clear leadership claim, as well as the ability to provide orientation and set priorities even in complex situations We offer A versatile and responsible leadership task at an attractive location in the heart of Zurich with scope for design and development opportunities.
