Tasks

• Guidance and supervision of the learners in the laboratory (practical tasks with a focus on the areas of synthesis, analytics, safety, devices and logistics)
• Evaluation and discussion of results of the practical tasks with the learners
• Conveyance of practice-accompanying theory
• Correction and discussion of laboratory journals
• Compilation, implementation and evaluation of exams (theory and practical exams)
• Meetings and instructions individually and in a group
• Enforcement of order in the teaching laboratory (demonstration laboratory) as well as control of compliance with laboratory rules (safety)

Profile

• completed training as a Chemielaborant:in EFZ + possibly further training in chemistry
• completed basic course for vocational trainers desired, familiar with the Swiss education system
• several years of professional experience
• solid experience in the field of synthesis and analytical methods
• initial experience in methodology/didactics and vocational pedagogy
• very good German and good English skills in speaking and writing
• good knowledge of common software (MS Office suite and Chemdraw)
• independent, goal-oriented, proactive, team- and conflict-capable, very reliable
• role model function and motivator for the young people; joy in dealing with learners is essential
• convincing, confident appearance and an assertive personality
