Job Description ##

The ideal training for young adults passionate about natural sciences and physico-chemical processes!

You work in different areas of research:

• Assisting in the development and characterization of chemical compounds as well as the optimization of their manufacturing processes
• Planning experiments based on bibliographic research
• Carrying out experiments to produce chemical compounds or answer analytical questions
• Using glass apparatus and laboratory techniques, such as synthesis robots
• Analyzing chemical substances with high-precision analytical devices, for example for their purity or chemical structure
• Collection and evaluation of data and measurement series
• Documentation and evaluation of experiments

The training lasts 3 years, including 6 months of basic training in our teaching laboratory on the ETH Hönggerberg campus. During the training, you change your place of assignment according to a rotation principle and thus discover ETH from different angles.

Profile ##

You like experimenting and are interested in chemistry, physics, and mathematics as well as working with electronic devices and complex installations. Additionally, you have good observational skills, fine dexterity, you are reliable, and you work in a careful, structured, and precise manner. Thanks to your ability to think interdependently, you approach experiments with sufficient perseverance and patience.

For this professional training, you need a compulsory school diploma and good grades in the following subjects:

• Mathematics
• Biology
• Chemistry
• Physics
• English
• Knowledge of IT is an advantage
