We are looking for an engaged person as KTZH - APPLICATION DEVELOPER / APPLICATION DEVELOPER FIRE DEPARTMENT 80% starting immediately or by arrangement. How you can make an impact with us * Operation, maintenance, and further development of our own IT platforms and applications regarding the administration and alerting of the fire departments in the Canton of Zurich * Conception and implementation of new functions, modules, and interfaces (REST APIs) * Ensuring availability, performance, and security during ongoing operations * Construction, maintenance, and further development of CI/CD pipelines and automated tests * Service and operations management for our applications (incident, change, and release management) * Technical documentation as well as collaboration with specialist departments, fire departments, and external partners What you bring with you * Completed IT training (Informatiker EFZ or equivalent training) * Experience with GitLab, PHP, OOP and design patterns, REST APIs, SQL and database design, MySQL, Composer, PHPUnit, performance optimization, security best practices * Further: Experience with the Symfony Framework (a great advantage) and confident handling of Linux environments * Flexible mindset that can quickly adjust to changing processes and situations * Open-minded and engaged personality with good software engineering know-how * Proficient German and good English skills * Desired: Fire department experience The GVZ is an independent public enterprise and employs around 145 internal and 250 part-time employees.
