Your contribution

• Manage the team from a human, technical, and financial perspective
• Manage and evolve data platforms, and participate in the on-call service
• Develop and administer typical components such as databases, ETL tools, query engines, API gateways, and backend applications, both locally and in the cloud
• Take responsibility for requirements analysis, specification definition, modeling, system design, development, testing, and integration of workflows, interfaces, and services on Linux/Unix/Windows within the backend
• Develop solutions for meteorology and climatology aimed at the integration, transformation, and provision of data in compliance with international standards (e.g., air traffic information and warning systems)
• Develop APIs and gateways, reorganize and modernize existing applications and systems

What distinguishes you

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Business Informatics, in addition to several years of experience with data management systems in the cloud (AWS) and in your own data center (Unix/Linux)
• Proficiency in data pipelines and ETL products such as Pentaho, FME, as well as database products such as PostgreSQL, Oracle
• Knowledge of scripting or programming with AI support is desirable (e.g.: Python, Java, PL/SQL, ksh, C, R)
• Initial experience with technologies such as streaming (Kafka), Airflow, No-SQL, query engines, artificial intelligence tools, etc., is considered an advantage
• Ability to work in a structured manner according to ITIL processes with agile methods in daily operations
• Excellent command of German and knowledge of a second official language and English
