The school includes numerous exhibition and performance venues where students' project work is presented to the public. • The stage technology & workshops (BTW) of the Department of Performing Arts and Film (DDK) are the central service of the department for the fields of event technology, specialized infrastructure, video, sound, lighting, stage technology, and workshops.   To support the team, the BTW is looking for, starting from 1 October 2026 or by arrangement, a Event technician specialized in sound and video, 80 % (m,f,d) # Your tasks In collaboration with a well-trained team, you are responsible for technical advice to the organizers of the DDK and to external persons. You support our students and teachers in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and control of sound, video, and stage technology for module courses, productions, as well as during tours. You participate in the installation and dismantling of sound and video technology and help the stage technology team to set up stage installations and sets. As a sound and video specialist, you provide particular support for the installation of cameras, media servers, projectors, mixing consoles, and microphones. The management of live streamings, the operation of videos during performances and rehearsals, as well as the mixing of live camera images are important complements to this versatile task profile. You ensure the preparation of video content for productions as well as the installation and maintenance work of sound and video technology. Your profile If you have completed an apprenticeship as an event technician or an equivalent training, you already fulfill one of the main requirements for this position. We are looking for a person having theatrical experience as well as technical competence in the programming and control of sound and video devices. For collaboration with other departments close to the stage, with students, as well as for direct contact with artistic managers, your autonomy, your great social competence, and your empathy are a great advantage. Availability for flexible schedules including shift work and weekends is indispensable for this important task in the theatrical environment.   Particular knowledge: • Experience with common software and hardware components in the field of events or theatre; we work mainly with QLab and Isadora. • Knowledge of Dante networks as well as Yamaha consoles is an advantage • Good knowledge of German and English, spoken and written What you can expect from us We offer you an interesting and demanding task in a lively and collegial environment at Toni-Areal in Zurich.
