Amt für Mobilität Head of Department Total Mobility 80 - 100% Do you want to develop the transport system in the Canton of Zürich holistically and in the long term? In the Total Mobility department of the Amt für Mobilität, we plan the future transport system across all modes of transport and means of transport. In coordination with settlement and environment, we develop total transport concepts, prepare agglomeration programs, and coordinate their implementation. We are also the central, coordinating body for questions regarding freight transport and logistics. In structural planning, we process all transport topics and significantly shape them. The decisive factor is always the holistic view -- this is how we create the planning foundations for future-oriented mobility in the Canton of Zürich. We are looking for you as Head of Total Mobility as of 1 June 2027 or by arrangement. Your main tasks * Leadership of the Total Mobility department with a total of ten employees as well as their professional, personal, and organizational development * Responsibility for the strategic total transport planning of the Canton of Zürich as well as management of significant planning projects such as agglomeration programs, regional total transport concepts, and area planning * Representation of the canton's total transport interests in structural, land-use, and subject planning procedures as well as towards the administration, politics, and external stakeholders * Participation in the executive management of the Amt für Mobilität and co-responsibility for its strategic development Our requirements * University degree (Master or Doctorate) in transport planning, spatial planning, civil engineering, or a comparable field of study * Several years of professional and leadership experience, ideally in a transport or spatial planning environment, as well as a strong understanding of political and internal administrative processes * Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills as well as enjoyment of working with different stakeholders * Networked and analytical way of thinking, high level of initiative, as well as assertiveness * Very good German skills in speaking and writing; English skills are required, French skills are an advantage Our offer We offer you a responsible leadership function with great creative freedom in a politically exciting environment.
