Construction Client Representative/Project Manager

Switzerland - Zürich Corporate Services, Infrastructure and Sites Group Functions The Role You will lead as a construction client representative: the development and execution of complex and demanding conversion and renovation projects in the existing portfolio and ensure that a feasible idea becomes a user-friendly and sustainable solution. You will actively advise the internal future users, record their diverse needs, create concepts for action, check feasibility and economic viability. With your service-oriented approach, you will develop optimal solutions for our company. You will evaluate and control external architects and planners, also in the construction phase. You will accompany the multi-stage planning processes and be a negotiation partner for authorities and contractors. You will be supported by in-house and external specialists. In this exciting function, you will be responsible for the following tasks: • Ensures the professional execution and goal-oriented implementation of mandated construction projects (scope of delivery within the specified deadlines, costs, quality and corresponding risk management) • Assumes the function of UBS construction client representative (BHV) on behalf of Switzerland Real Estate & Services (SRES) in construction projects • Represents UBS in the sense of the construction mandate vis-à-vis internal and external stakeholder groups (coordination of the involved UBS functions, users, local authorities and suppliers) • Processes construction projects according to UBS standards • Reports in the BHV function to the project steering committee or line management • Leads, coordinates and controls all external partners, suppliers and contracted third parties • Ensures planning, realization, processing and structured handover to FM operations including construction client documentation and timely operational handover • Is able to lead projects from adjacent real estate service areas due to pronounced project management skills Automatic position code 338314BR City Zürich Job Type Full-time Our Team The UBS Switzerland Real Estate & Services function is part of the Group Real Estate & Supply Chain business area and is responsible for the corporate real estate portfolio strategy, for the efficient provision of building infrastructure and for the provision of corporate services for employees in Switzerland. Furthermore, it ensures the control and monitoring of all real estate services throughout the entire building life cycle and is responsible for all processes related to outsourcing in the construction process and in accompanying facility management with third-party companies and suppliers. What we expect To fill this challenging position, you have: • Several years of experience in managing construction projects (e.g. project management, construction management, construction client representation or project control) • Solid education in the construction environment with relevant further training in project management, construction project management or construction economics • Very good understanding of construction processes, cost control, scheduling and quality assurance • Practical experience in dealing with general and total contractors as well as professional construction client organizations • Confident and sovereign appearance towards authorities, partners and other stakeholder groups • In-depth knowledge of the SIA standard and its practical application • Pronounced ability to structure complex facts and make informed decisions • Experience or interest in current topics such as sustainability, smart buildings, IoT, BIM and accompanying FM • Entrepreneurial, networked thinking with high customer orientation as well as team spirit, flexibility and commitment • Negotiation-secure German and good English in word and writing; additional language skills are an advantage, as well as very good knowledge of Office 365 and common PM tools About us UBS is a leading global wealth manager and the leading universal bank in Switzerland.
