Leader: Major BA Contemporary Dance (70%), w/m/d The ZHdK is one of the largest and most diverse art colleges in Europe with around 2100 Bachelor and Master's students. The study and research areas include Art Education, Design, Film, Fine Arts, Music, Dance, Theater, and Transdisciplinarity. The college includes numerous exhibition and performance venues where students' project work is publicly showcased. — In the Department of Performing Arts and Film, around 170 young dancers are currently being trained. The dance training includes the Tanz Akademie Zürich (taZ) with the "Grundstudium Klassischer Tanz" as preliminary training for children and young people, as well as the vocational training (EFZ) in classical stage dance. At the university level, the BA Contemporary Dance and MA Dance with the specializations Choreography or Teaching and Coaching Dance Professionals are offered. In the Bachelor's program Contemporary Dance, which was founded in 2014, national and international up-and-coming talents develop into professional, contemporary stage dancers within the framework of a three-year study program. For the artistic, pedagogical, and organizational leadership of the study program, we are looking for a Leader: Major BA Contemporary Dance (70%), w/m/d Your tasks as Leader: Major BA Contemporary Dance 50% Further development and design of the study program (artistically, pedagogically, structurally) in close cooperation with the Head of Dance Responsibility for curriculum, study planning, and study courses Leadership of the teaching and research staff as well as study coordination Organization and ensuring the teaching operation including productions and projects Responsibility for admission procedures (auditions) and study completions Advising and accompanying students throughout the entire study period Planning and coordination of internships in Switzerland and abroad Budget responsibility and resource planning Quality assurance and strategic further development of the program Representation of the program internally and externally as well as maintenance of networks Your tasks as lecturer in contemporary dance 20% Conveying dance technique in the field of contemporary dance within the study program Rehearsal direction as well as choreographic accompaniment of a diverse contemporary repertoire Your profile You are passionate about contemporary dance and want to take responsibility for a future-proof education of young talents. You have a university degree at the Master's level or an equivalent qualification and an international artistic profile in contemporary dance with very good networking. In addition, you have several years of professional and leadership experience, ideally in a university context. You bring pronounced organizational and management skills and efficiently control complex processes. You work in a structured, forward-looking, and independent manner. You have very good German and English language skills. You also bring secure IT user skills. Furthermore, you are characterized by high social, communication, and negotiation skills, team and integration skills, as well as stress tolerance and assertiveness. For the exercise of the function, a presence on site in Zurich is required.
