Learning Management System Specialist

The E-Learning & Examination (ELEXA) team belongs to the Multimedia & E-Learning Services (MELS) of the Central IT of the University of Zurich (UZH). We operate and support OLAT, the central Learning Management System (LMS) of the UZH. Through our work, we enable digital teaching and learning for lecturers and students of all faculties and contribute to the further development of the digital educational offerings of the UZH.

Learning Management System Specialist

Tasks

• You support the users of OLAT in 2nd-level support and process demanding inquiries
• You advise and train lecturers, employees and other university stakeholders
• You create and maintain training materials, tutorials and documentation
• You supervise and further develop the LMS community
• You test new OLAT functions and bugfixes and support quality assurance
• You capture software requirements and incorporate them into the further development process of OLAT
• You work in projects for the further development of the LMS
• You support the Online Examinations specialist group with services in the examination area
• You continuously and actively undergo further training and share your professional know-how within the team

Profile

• University degree or comparable training, preferably in the education, IT or media technology environment
• Enjoyment of support and working with a wide variety of stakeholders
• Experience in consulting, support, training or adult education
• Interest in digital teaching and e-learning
• Very good written expression skills and enjoyment of creating documentation and learning materials
• Structured, independent and careful way of working
• Technical understanding and interest in software testing as well as in the further development of applications
• Teamwork skills as well as willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics and to continuously undergo further training
