Through their work in the five social centers, the Social Services ensure that people in the City of Zurich can rely on effective basic social services.

For our team in the Sozialzentrum Wipkingerplatz, we are looking for motivated personalities starting immediately or by arrangement.

Social Worker Child Protection ##

Tasks

• You manage civil law mandates in child protection and accompany children, adolescents and their families in demanding life situations.
• You are administratively supported by clerks, can draw on the knowledge of internal specialist departments and work closely with your colleagues in the team.
• You take on legal guardianships with different focus areas, including in complex family situations and regarding questions about visitation and contact rights.
• You shape the cooperation with children, parents, specialist departments, authorities and other involved persons in a solution-oriented and professional manner.
• You capture complex situations, develop sustainable solutions and represent the interests and the well-being of the children and adolescents under guardianship.
• You document your work traceably in a case management system and ensure careful mandate management.

Profile

• University of applied sciences degree in Social Work
• Professional experience in managing civil law mandates, ideally in child protection
• Experience in dealing with complex family situations and different stakeholder groups
• Rapid assessment of complex situations, high personal responsibility and the ability to act professionally and solution-oriented even in challenging situations
• Good communication skills and negotiation skills
• Interest in additional professional or organizational responsibility is an advantage; possibility to take over the deputy leadership role
