With your financial expertise and leadership strength, you will significantly help shape the financial future of the Stadt Zürich. As a cross-sectional organization, the Finanzdepartement der Stadt Zürich manages the areas of Finance, Human Resources Management, IT, Real Estate, Taxes, and Housing Promotion. The Finanzverwaltung is responsible for central financial and controlling tasks and creates essential foundations for political decisions. As part of a succession arrangement, we are looking for a convincing personality as Direktor*in Finanzverwaltung, 80 -- 100 % starting in spring 2027. In this responsible function, you will continue to lead and develop the department with around 50 employees professionally, economically, and digitally. You bear the overall responsibility for financial and task planning, budget, annual accounts, and financial controlling, and ensure sustainable financial planning. For the Stadtrat, Gemeinderat, and other political bodies, you develop strategic decision-making foundations and help shape municipal financial policy. You also lead the executive management and represent the Finanzverwaltung towards internal and external stakeholders. For this demanding leadership task, you have a university degree in business administration or economics, supplemented by further training in leadership and management as well as in public finance. You bring comprehensive financial and strategic competencies as well as several years of leadership experience. Analytical and conceptual thinking, a sound understanding of political processes, and experience in working with political authorities characterize you.
