• 10 July 2026 • 100% • Indefinite duration • Zurich Program Manager Forest & Climate Zurich, CH, 8005 About the position Barry Callebaut has revised its environmental goals, now structured as follows: • By 2025, be Forest Positive • By 2030, we will have decarbonized our footprint in line with global efforts to limit climate warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius • By 2050, we will be a net-zero emission company To achieve these goals, Barry Callebaut has launched an ambitious goal in favor of forest protection, as well as large-scale agroforestry programs in several cocoa and palm oil exporting countries (Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cameroon, Nigeria, Ecuador). The Program Manager Forest and Climate will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of forest protection and agroforestry programs. The main responsibilities include • Selecting and/or designing relevant forest protection projects in areas where cocoa expansion generates proven deforestation (12-20 projects) in order to generate sustainable risk mitigation strategies, in line with the company's "Forest Positive" goal and EUDR compliance strategy; • Supervising the implementation of our global agroforestry program in close collaboration with our local teams and external partners. Implementing and further developing our agroforestry model and roadmap; • Regularly reporting on progress in agroforestry and forest protection to internal stakeholders and supporting external reporting to customers and other stakeholders; • Supporting the development of our climate-related customer offering in order to increase funding available for agroforestry and forest protection programs. This includes supporting our customer-facing team during meetings and their preparation; • Supporting the development and execution of our broader Thriving Nature strategy: as a member of the corporate TN team, contributing to shaping our global climate and nature strategy and supporting its execution beyond agroforestry and forest protection. About you • Doctorate or Master's degree in natural resource management, forestry, or agronomy • 10 years of experience in developing and implementing agroforestry and/or sustainable forest management programs (on-site presence required) • Excellent English and French skills (strongly preferred) • Experience collaborating with companies on sustainability engagements • In-depth understanding of land use and deforestation issues • In-depth understanding of best practices in forest protection, sustainable forest management, and agroforestry • Ability to operate in international and multicultural environments • People-oriented and ability to bring together different stakeholders • Ability to work closely with large, complex teams remotely, without hierarchical authority • Creativity and innovative thinking • Flexibility and adaptability to change • Proven track record of team leadership • Ability to demonstrate seriousness and a high level of credibility • Ability to influence and gain buy-in • Excellent stress management while maintaining a high level of personal and professional integrity • Positive "can-do" attitude • Autonomous and practical work style Application deadline: 24/07/2026 Employment segment: Program Manager, Scientist, Agricultural, Agronomy, Manager, Management, Engineering, Agriculture
