About the position We are looking for an experienced electromechanic who will take on a central role in quality assurance, repair, and continuous improvement of our products. The position combines practical repair and assembly work with quality control responsibility, workshop maintenance, and active participation in optimizing test setups and assembly processes. You are part of the hardware development team and work closely with production. Thus, you contribute to both day-to-day business and long-term quality initiatives. In this role, you will: • Repair devices returned by customers, including diagnosis and replacement of electronic components • Repair and refurbish devices from assembly that have defects or fail quality tests • Conduct failure analyses of defective devices in collaboration with hardware engineers • Operate and ensure the repair, mechanics, and electronics workshop is organized and ready for use at all times • Perform quality controls during assembly and for incoming parts (IQC) • Document repairs, quality issues, and component replacements in the ticket system and QMS • Track the failure history per device, including cause, measures taken, and replaced parts • Document findings in the design change list (CCN) and review updated assembly instructions • Optimize and co-develop new test setups • Conduct product tests such as shock/fall, aging, and tightness tests • Support the assembly team during peak periods • Optimize assembly procedures and component design in close collaboration with hardware engineers • Design simple mechanical parts and fixtures in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) Your profile • Completed apprenticeship (EFZ) as a multimedia electrician, electrician, polymechanic, or designer • Further education at a technical school HF is an advantage • Proven experience in repairing electronic devices or precision mechanics • Strong practical skills in electronic repair, including fault diagnosis and component replacement at the component level • Solid understanding of assembly principles; experience in both electronics and mechanics Basic knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks or similar) is an advantage • High affinity for quality — proud of precise, careful, and well-documented work • Organizational talent — appreciates a clean, structured workplace • Curious and practically inclined — likes to repair and understand how things work, also in free time • Good English skills for internal communication and documentation.
