HR Manager At the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the University of Zurich, we are looking for a committed, service-oriented, and responsible personality as an HR Manager (60%) starting 1. November 2026 or by arrangement. Our institute is located at the Campus Irchel and employs around 120 staff members from research, teaching, and administration in an international environment. In this versatile function, you will take responsibility for the entire personnel administration of the institute and accompany employees from recruitment through onboarding and development to departure. As a competent contact person, you will advise and support professors as well as holders of third-party funds on personnel-relevant issues. In doing so, you will work closely with the responsible HR specialists of the central personnel department of the UZH. With your structured way of working, your high service orientation, and your enjoyment of collaborating with various stakeholders, you will make an important contribution to the smooth operation of our institute. HR Manager Tasks Personnel Administration Independent handling of all entry and exit processes Organization and support of recruitment and hiring processes Monitoring of fixed-term employment as well as coordination of contract extensions Processing of salary mutations and administrative personnel processes Maintenance and control of personnel data as well as evaluations (e.g., salary data, holiday overviews, timesheets, member lists) Administration of access rights and key orders Collaboration and Advisory Advising and supporting professors as well as those responsible for third-party funds on personnel-relevant issues Close cooperation with the institute controlling, the central personnel department of the University of Zurich, as well as external authorities (e.g., migration office, office for economy and labor) Ensuring correct and timely personnel administration in compliance with university and legal requirements Profile Your qualifications and skills Completed training or further education in Human Resources (e.g., HR specialist certificate or equivalent qualification) is a prerequisite Several years of professional experience in personnel management, ideally in public administration, at a university, or a comparable educational or research institution Knowledge of public or cantonal personnel law is an advantage Enjoyment of an independent, exact, and responsible way of working Strong service orientation as well as confident communication skills Very good German and English skills in speaking and writing We offer A varied and responsible activity in a renowned university research institute A collegial, appreciative, and international working environment Modern working conditions at Campus Irchel Contemporary employment conditions according to the guidelines of the University of Zurich The opportunity to actively shape processes and take on responsibility We offer Our employees benefit from diverse and attractive offers.
