Senior Business Analyst / Business Engineer Software Asset Management

Software asset management! For a strategically relevant project in the financial services environment, we are looking for an experienced personality at the interface of business, IT, architecture, procurement, finance, risk, and management. The focus is on designing a targeted software asset management system and creating seamless processes throughout the entire software lifecycle. For this challenging mandate in Zürich, we are looking for you as: Senior Business Analyst / Business Engineer Software Asset Management # YOUR TASKS In this responsible role, you will analyze current software-related processes - from demand notification and procurement to deployment, usage, and maintenance to cancellation and retirement. In doing so, you will identify existing gaps from the perspective of software asset management and create the basis for a future-proof target image. You will design and model an effective software asset management system throughout the entire software lifecycle. To do this, you will define roles, responsibilities, control points, and interfaces to relevant areas such as IT, procurement, finance, security, and compliance. Additionally, you will collect, structure, and document technical and functional requirements for a future SAM tool, particularly in the areas of license management, inventory, contract management, and reporting. A special focus is on prioritizing the minimum requirements in the sense of an MVP. Furthermore, you will work on the integration of the SAM tool into the existing system landscape, for example, in ITSM systems or SAP Ariba. You will define data requirements, interfaces, and quality requirements, thus creating a solid foundation for later implementation. The creation of decision-making bases such as business cases and target images, technical concepts, and training documents is also part of your tasks, as is the accompaniment of tool selection and the first implementation steps. YOUR PROFILE You have in-depth experience in building or further developing software asset management or license management. You are very familiar with the design of end-to-end processes throughout the software lifecycle. In addition, you have several years of experience as a business analyst, business engineer, or in a comparable role in an agile environment, ideally according to SAFe. You convince with your ability to moderate different stakeholders from business, IT, architecture, procurement, finance, risk, and management, prepare decision-making bases, and communicate and document complex facts clearly, in a target-group-oriented and comprehensible manner. Your way of working is analytical, conceptually strong, and at the same time pragmatic. You think in terms of benefits, effects, risks, and costs, question assumptions, and set priorities in the sense of a targeted implementation. Experience with SAM tools such as Flexera, ServiceNow SAM, Snow, USU, or comparable solutions is an advantage. Very good German and English language skills at level C1 are required. YOUR PERSPECTIVES You will take on a central role in a strategically important project to further develop software asset management and actively shape future SAM processes. You can expect a challenging environment with close cooperation between Strategy, Risk & Analytics, DevOps ITSM, IT architecture, Products, Infrastructure, and other IT teams. The mandate starts on 03.08.2026 and runs until 31.12.2026. The workload is 100% with a total of 87 person-days.
