With more than 2000 learners, the ABZH is one of the large vocational schools in the Canton of Zürich. Located in the immediate vicinity of the Zürich main station, over 100 teachers and a professional administration team are committed to a high-quality range of initial and continuing education. The position of the rectorate is filled interimly until the end of this school year and is therefore being publicly advertised for a definitive appointment as of 1.9.2027. We are therefore looking for a new Rector / a new Rector.

Your tasks ###

You lead the school management and bear the overall pedagogical, personnel, and financial responsibility. The school management includes the three departments -Culinary and Hospitality-, -Applied Technology, Consulting and Documentation- as well as -Society, Language and Movement-. Furthermore, the area of -Central Services- is subordinate to you. You are supported in your work by the department heads, the administration management, and individual staff positions. Together with your team, you ensure school operations and shape the future of the ABZH in consultation with the responsible bodies in the canton. You will also personally take on a small teaching load. You actively maintain contacts outside the school, especially with economic bodies and professional associations.

Your profile ###

• Completed studies (Tertiary level A or B)
• Teaching qualification in the professional field of the ABZH
• Leadership experience in the initial and continuing education of a cantonal vocational school
• Experience in dealing with the cantonal administration
• Knowledge of the Swiss vocational education landscape
• Good networking with professional associations and bodies
• Joy and passion for personnel management and development
• Target-group-oriented communication
• Strong conceptual skills (process development)
• Empathic, long-term thinking leadership personality
