The school includes many exhibition and performance venues where students' project work is presented to the public. • The stage technology & workshops (BTW) of the Department of Performing Arts and Film (DDK) are the central service of the department for the fields of event technology, specialized infrastructure, video, sound, lighting, stage technology and workshops. To support the team, the BTW is looking for, starting from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement, a Event technician specializing in lighting, 80 % (m,f,d) # Your tasks • Technical advice to DDK/ZHdK organizers and external parties • Planning, implementation, monitoring & management of lighting and stage technology requirements for our students and teachers during modules, productions as well as for tours, in a team but also autonomously for follow-up and organization related to the production. • Assembly and disassembly of lighting technology during productions, modules, as well as support for stage technology for the assembly of stage installations & sets • Monitoring and use of lighting technical equipment • Ensuring the smooth running of lighting operations in the assigned area during rehearsals and performances • Taking charge of infrastructural preparations and transport work in the field of productions, stock management, light/stage tours • Carrying out maintenance and repair tasks for lighting installations • Carrying out electrical installation work in the field of decoration • Development of piece-specific documentation in the field of lighting Your profile For this position, you have completed training as an event technician or equivalent training. Completed vocational training as an electrical installer or electromechanic is an advantage. We wish for you to have some experience in theatre. Furthermore, we appreciate your competence in programming lighting consoles. Good prior knowledge of the ETC Gio console is a great asset. Excellent knowledge of common software and hardware components completes your profile. Knowledge of the functioning of projectors, moving lights and LED technology is an advantage. You approach artistic requirements with the necessary empathy. You possess at least a category B driver's license. This versatile activity requires availability for flexible hours with shift work and weekends.   You work in close collaboration with other departments close to the stage as well as with students and assume tasks that are both technical and techno-artistic, in direct contact with artistic managers. This requires a high degree of autonomy and social skills. Due to the diversity of people working at the École des arts, it is indispensable to be able to communicate also in English.
