As a team reporting directly to the Vice President for Finance and Controlling, we advise the school management and organizational units on complex issues of organizational resilience. Our work helps to ensure the operational capability of one of the world's leading universities even under extraordinary conditions and to protect research, teaching, knowledge transfer, and critical infrastructures in the long term. To strengthen our small team, we are looking for an experienced specialist as a Senior Business Continuity Manager (m/f/d) with proven expertise in Business Continuity Management and sound knowledge in Corporate Insurance Management. Job Description ## The focus of your activity lies in the functional leadership for Business Continuity Management (BCM). You are responsible for the further development and institutional anchoring of BCM at one of the world's leading technical universities. You make a significant contribution to ensuring critical processes and infrastructures in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer. Business Continuity Management (approx. 60%) • Functional responsibility for the BCM of ETH Zürich • Management of the institutional anchoring and continuous further development of the BCM based on ISO 22301 and recognized best practices. • Further development of BCM governance, standards, methods, and processes • Advising the school management, executives, and organizational units on complex issues of organizational resilience and preparation of robust decision-making bases • Conducting Business Impact Analyses as well as development of business continuity and recovery concepts • Planning and leading BCM exercises, tests, and awareness measures • Building and providing functional support for a decentralized BCM organization • Development of key figures and reporting on the maturity level and effectiveness of the BCM In addition, you will handle demanding issues in insurance, advise internal stakeholders, and coordinate the processing of complex claims. Insurance and Claims Management (approx. 40%) • Assessment of complex insurance, liability, and coverage issues in connection with research cooperation, novel technologies, international contracts, large-scale infrastructures, and procurement projects • Assessment of demanding contract clauses regarding insurability and residual risks • Participation in public tenders and further development of the insurance portfolio of ETH Zürich • Cooperation with brokers, insurers, experts, as well as internal and external specialists • Coordination during major loss events from the claim report to the completion of settlement and derivation of suitable prevention measures • Leading and participating in projects related to organizational resilience Profile ## *Professional and technical qualifications* • Completed university degree (FH/University) at Master's level • Several years of professional experience (at least 8 to 10 years) in demanding specialist functions of the Business Continuity Management System or organizational resilience, including several years with functional responsibility • Sound knowledge of recognized BCM standards and methods, especially ISO 22301, as well as best practices and further training in BCM • Sound knowledge in the field of corporate insurance and practical experience in the assessment of liability and coverage issues • Experience in universities, research, technology, public sector, or international large corporations is an advantage • High IT affinity; GRC software knowledge is desirable and willingness to actively develop digital solutions *Personal and social skills* • Very high degree of independence, structured approach • Very good conceptual and analytical skills and quick comprehension • Assertive appearance combined with diplomatic skill • Solution- and customer-oriented way of working • Flexibility, strong sense of responsibility and quality • Very good English skills We offer ## Your profession with impact: Become part of ETH Zürich, which not only supports your professional development but also actively contributes to positive changes in society.
