Senior AI Governance Manager 80%-100% (w/m/d)

As a Senior AI Governance Manager, you will play a central role in the design and anchoring of group-wide standards for AI Governance within the organization. In your function in the Center of Excellence Data & AI, you will take the lead on topics surrounding AI Governance, AI frameworks, and cross-departmental initiatives – without direct leadership responsibility. You will work closely with business departments, technology, risk, compliance, legal, and data teams to enable the responsible, compliant, and effective use of Artificial Intelligence in a banking environment.

Your tasks:

You will take the lead in the development, implementation, and continuous further development of the group-wide AI governance framework, including policies, standards, controls, and guidelines.

You will drive the operationalization of AI Governance throughout the entire AI lifecycle – from the intake of use cases and risk assessments to approvals, monitoring, and periodic review.

You will act as a trusted contact person for business departments, technology, and control functions regarding Responsible AI practices, regulatory expectations, and governance requirements.

You will maintain an overview of AI use cases, inventories, and documentation to ensure transparency, traceability during audits, and consistent governance across different locations.

You will monitor regulatory and industry-related developments related to AI, data, model risks, and digital banking and translate these into practical requirements for the organization.

You will create clear reports, recommendations, and decision bases for senior stakeholders, governance bodies, and relevant control functions.

You will promote awareness and acceptance of Responsible AI through training, guidelines, and close cooperation with teams throughout the group.

Your profile shows:

You have several years of experience in the area of AI Governance, Model Risk Management, or a related field, preferably in a banking, financial services, or insurance environment.

You bring a very strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, including the associated risks, controls, and governance expectations throughout the entire AI lifecycle.

You are familiar with relevant regulatory and industry-standard frameworks such as the EU AI Act, FINMA expectations, MAS guidelines, Model Risk Management principles, as well as requirements for data protection and operational resilience.

You have a proven ability to lead topics, initiatives, and stakeholder alignment in an international matrix organization without direct personnel leadership responsibility.

You are characterized by a structured, pragmatic, and solution-oriented way of working, combined with strong analytical skills and the ability to question constructively.

You have excellent written and spoken English skills and can translate complex technical and regulatory topics into clear business recommendations; German is an advantage.

Additionally, relevant certifications or further training in the areas of AI Governance, risk management, compliance, audit, data protection, or information security are preferred.
