The foundation of the Evangelische Gesellschaft des Kantons Zürich ( ) has been committed to people in difficult life situations for over 175 years. In the course of its long history, organizations such as the Herberge zur Heimat, the Spital Zollikerberg, the Dargebotene Hand, the Café Yucca, and the Isla Victoria were founded. The evangelical schools of Zürich and the Theologische Verlag Zürich also emerged from the Evangelische Gesellschaft. Our latest projects are the Sankt Anna Forum, the social laundromat «Bubbles of Happiness», and the future dormitory for students in emergency situations.

The foundation owns and manages seven properties in Zürich. The rental income serves the operational implementation of the four own projects as well as the targeted support of further innovative projects such as the Malaika Flüchtlingstheater, Social Fabric, or MateriaBona. The Evangelische Gesellschaft has repeatedly initiated, built up, and accompanied projects into independence. With the resources set free, new ideas could always be developed and implemented. To maintain this innovative strength of the Evangelische Gesellschaft, we are looking for two motivated and committed personalities as of January 1, 2027, as:

Your tasks

• Together with the entire foundation board, you are responsible for the strategic leadership of the Evangelische Gesellschaft.
• As part of the foundation board, you are responsible for personnel planning (foundation board, management), financial planning (medium-term financial planning, budget, annual financial statements), and the monitoring of compliance.
• You periodically review the foundation policy and strategy, the regulations and guidelines, the organization, efficiency and effectiveness of the foundation's activities, as well as the performance of the management and the foundation board.
• You ensure the appropriate handling of foundation-specific risks.
• You use your network to support the foundation's activities.

Your profile

• We are looking for a flexible, humorous, and communicative leadership personality who can identify with the tasks and goals of the Evangelische Gesellschaft.
• With your experience, you will complement the current competence profile of the foundation board either in the area of "entrepreneurship/finance" or "inpatient social work/home management".
• You are characterized by financial and analytical know-how and think entrepreneurially.
• You promote team spirit, act decisively even in complex situations, and keep the foundation's goals firmly in view.
• We desire a person with a good network in Zürich and the surrounding area.

The effort for this activity includes participation in 4-6 meetings per year (at 2.5 hours each), corresponding preparation and follow-up times, as well as active thinking also outside of the meetings.
