As part of the Department of Education of the Canton of Zürich, the Office for Youth and Vocational Counseling actively shapes the offers in the field of child and youth welfare as well as vocational counseling. At the center of our work are children, adolescents, and families - we commit ourselves to them daily - with much passion and commitment. The Trägerschaften department is part of the area responsible for Supplementary Educational Assistance and for the enforcement of the Child and Youth Home Act (KJG).

In the Pädagogik & Qualität team, we are looking for an immediately or by arrangement and fixed-term until 31.12.2030 technically expert personality from the fields of Social Work, Social Pedagogy, or Educational Sciences, preferably with experience in stationary child and youth welfare and a business understanding of social institutions or in the management of a social operation.

Your tasks ###

• Examination of licensing applications in residential care and responsibility for the supervision of institutions (incl. processing of supervision-relevant events)
• Responsibility for the conclusion of service agreements with service providers in the field of residential care (incl. budget examination and processing of position requests)
• Examination and approval of concepts for residential care offers
• Advising service providers on technical, organizational, and legal questions regarding quality assurance.
• Participation in the development and compliance of normative specifications, processes, and qualitative foundations
• Close cooperation with the Controlling team as well as with the service providers and with relevant authorities at the federal and cantonal levels

Your profile ###

• Bachelor's degree (Uni/FH) in Social Work, Educational Sciences, or in related disciplines with interest and understanding of business and legal issues and without fear of numbers
• several years of professional experience in the field of child protection, stationary child and youth welfare, or in a comparable function within the administration
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to convey complex facts understandably, precisely, and appropriately for the target group.
• Confident appearance as well as the ability to act clearly and constructively even in demanding conversation situations
• High degree of independence, resilience, and the motivation to actively advance things
• Affinity for questions surrounding IT and the use of specialist applications
• Interest in engaging in a socially-politically relevant environment and taking on responsibility
