Construction Estimator

At Snapbau, we develop the digital operational layer for procurement and execution in the construction industry. We already work with leading construction companies in Switzerland and are now looking for an experienced professional from the construction sector who wants to bring their practical knowledge, built up over many years, to a new kind of challenge.

This position offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in construction estimation, tendering, quantity surveying, materials, and project specifications beyond traditional processes – and in doing so, help shape digital solutions that will support the future of the construction industry.

We are looking for a person with sound experience in construction estimation and tendering to support us in structuring, analyzing, and validating the complex information that construction companies rely on daily.

Tasks

• Analysis of construction tenders, bills of quantities (LV), specifications, and technical documentation
• Identification, structuring, and classification of construction services, materials, products, and services
• Definition of calculation and classification logics for various construction services
• Analysis of quantities, units, price structures, and cost components
• Development and maintenance of construction and building data taxonomies as well as classification rules
• Validation of AI-generated construction data and continuous improvement of their accuracy
• Transfer of construction knowledge into clear, structured rules for implementation by our product and engineering teams
• Identification of inconsistencies, dependencies, and relationships within construction data

What you bring with you

1. Professional experience in construction estimation, work preparation, quantity surveying, tender processing, or cost planning (at least 5 years)
2. Sound understanding of construction processes, building materials, trades, and project specifications - NPK, BKP
3. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, bills of quantities (LV), specifications, and tender documents
4. Sound understanding of the determination and calculation of quantities, scopes of work, and construction costs
5. Experience with classification systems in construction, cost types, cost codes, or structured construction data is an advantage
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as highest attention to detail
7. Ability to translate practical construction knowledge into structured data and logical rules
8. Confident handling of digital tools and technologies
9. Fluent German skills; French and/or English skills are an advantage
