When people need support in difficult life situations, one thing matters most: someone who listens, provides orientation, and finds the next step together with them.

The Sozialen Dienste ensure through their work in the five social centers that people in the city of Zurich can rely on effective basic social services.

For the Intake at the Sozialzentrum Selnau, directly in the center, we are looking for reinforcement by arrangement.

Tasks ##

• You comprehensively clarify the concerns within the framework of economic and personal social assistance of the clients.
• You offer short-term financial support with the goal of professional and social integration.
• You are responsible for triage, networking, and coordination and initiate immediate measures in the areas of social assistance and crisis intervention.
• You work together with neighborhood teams, specialist offices, authorities, and social insurance providers.
• You are administratively supported by clerks, can draw on the knowledge of internal specialist offices, and work closely with your colleagues in the team.

Profile ##

• Degree in Social Work (FH) with a specialization in Social Work, completed or shortly before graduation (applications from students in their final year are expressly welcome).
• Knowledge of the legal foundations and procedures of economic social assistance as well as ideally initial experience in their practical application.
• Commercial flair and good knowledge of financial topics.
• Rapid grasp of complex situations and the ability to take on different roles in counseling.
• Joy in working with people and good handling of contradictory expectations.
