The HIL building on the Hönggerberg campus will be transformed into a Living Lab. The building requiring renovation will be reconstructed and enlarged. The chairs of the departments of architecture (D-ARCH) as well as construction, environment and geomatics (D-BAUG) will study and plan the renovation of the HIL building in the coming years according to the principles of circular construction. The objective is to further develop sustainable design and construction in the existing built environment and to demonstrate them exemplarily in a real planning and construction project. We are looking for committed young architects to strengthen our planning team and support the development and implementation of complex sub-projects. In this position, you will have the unique opportunity to participate directly at the interface between innovative academic research and real construction practice in Switzerland, covering all SIA phases. Job Description ## In this project-related role, you will primarily assume the following tasks and responsibilities: • Planning Support: Participation in the design, detailed planning, and execution of various sub-projects and constructive interventions in the HIL building. • Prototype Development: Supporting sub-project leaders in the constructive development, detailing, and testing of new circular construction elements. • Project Documentation: Careful documentation of planning and construction processes as well as visual and content preparation of interim states for project committees. • 3D Modeling: Creation, development, and maintenance of precise 3D models for geometric and constructive verification within the team. • The position is initially limited to a maximum of five years, with a renewable one-year contract. Profile ## To ideally meet the requirements of this demanding position, you possess the following profile: • Education: Successful university degree in architecture (ETH, FH, or comparable university degree). • Professional Experience: Practical experience in a Swiss architecture firm (e.g., through internships or a first job after studies) is desired. • CAD Skills: Confident and proven mastery of 3D-CAD software, preferably Rhino and VisualARQ; knowledge of computer-aided design, preferably with Grasshopper / Python as well as BIM workflows is a plus. • Working Method: Ability to assimilate quickly, structured, autonomous, and precise working method as well as a strong team spirit in an interdisciplinary environment. • Interest: High motivation and enthusiasm for the themes of sustainability, circular construction, reuse of construction elements, and material-efficient construction. • Languages: Very good knowledge of German (min. B2/C1 for team coordination) and good knowledge of English, both oral and written.
