At the Institute for Laboratory Medicine of Stadtspital Zürich, a responsible leadership task in a modern and accredited laboratory environment awaits you. Together with the FAMH Hematology department management, you will ensure the reliable operation of the hematology laboratory as well as transfusion capability around the clock. In doing so, you will take on a central role in the professional, personnel, and organizational development of the department.

Tasks ##

• Together with the FAMH department management, you will operate the hematology laboratory including transfusion services and further develop the department.
• Together with your team, you will ensure smooth 24/7 operation in the areas of morphology (incl. blood counts, bone marrow, cytology, analyzers), hemostasis, immunohematology, serology, and immunophenotyping.
• You will take on the professional and personnel leadership of the employees as well as deployment, shift, and vacation planning.
• You are responsible for the compliance and further development of quality management according to ISO 15189 as well as applicable guidelines and legal regulations.
• Together with the FAMH department management, you will evaluate, validate, and implement new analytical methods, devices, and processes and actively drive optimizations.
• You will analyze performance and quality indicators, derive improvement measures, and support change and digitalization projects.
• You will promote interdisciplinary cooperation and are the contact person for internal and external partners for professional questions.
• You will be involved in the education and further training of students and employees and accompany internships as well as project and bachelor theses.

Profile ##

• Diploma as a Biomedical Analyst HF or FH, ideally with a higher professional examination or the willingness to complete it.
• Several years of professional and leadership experience in a medium-sized or larger medical laboratory.
• Sound knowledge and practical experience in diagnostic hematology as well as in transfusion services.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills as well as enjoyment in the further development of employees.
• High quality orientation and experience with accredited laboratory processes, preferably according to ISO 15189.
• Responsible, resilient, and solution-oriented personality with an independent and structured way of working.
• Willingness to perform night, weekend, or on-call shifts if required.
