Clerk Investigation Service, 80-100 %

The Investigations Commissariat of the Stadtpolizei Zürich ensures the basic criminal police services for misdemeanors and felonies throughout the entire city area around the clock. In addition to its own investigation mandates, the associated investigation service also processes mandates from the investigating authorities as well as arrest cases handed over by the uniformed police.

Cases are processed from the initial clarification to the conclusion of the proceedings, provided that no specialized group is responsible for them. You accompany the events from crime scene work through the investigations, interrogations, and coercive measures to the final reporting - close to the case, close to practice.

Tasks ##

• Dispatching to crime scenes for the purpose of establishing facts and on-site coordination during relevant criminal police events
• Ensuring criminal police prosecution of misdemeanors and felonies as well as taking measures for their prevention
• Carrying out demanding investigation proceedings, also in cooperation with other specialist groups, the investigating authorities, and other specialized services
• Participation in extra services and active shaping of own actions
• Performing criminal police night, weekend, and on-call services (approx. 12 night services per year)

Profile ##

• Completed police training (Federal Diploma of Higher Education Policeman/Policewoman) and several years of criminal police experience or interest in developing in this regard
• Sound police specialist knowledge, knowledge of relevant secondary legislation, and a structured approach to complex fact-finding
• Writing proficiency with solid knowledge in the area of reporting
• Interest in comprehensive criminal police investigations including crime scene work and delegated interrogations, as well as high motivation and enjoyment of an independent and exact way of working
• Ability to work in a team and openness, as well as a professional appearance in cooperation with different stakeholder groups
