And not only that: You will have the opportunity to quickly and independently apply knowledge learned during your studies in practice and, moreover, gain experience in dealing with people in difficult life situations. We are Justizvollzug und Wiedereingliederung (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zürich and employs around 1'400 women and men from diverse professions. Primarily, JuWe is responsible for the enforcement of court judgments and the conduct of pretrial detention. For the employees of JuWe, the prevention of recidivism and the successful social reintegration of convicted persons is of particular importance. Die Bewährungs- und Vollzugsdienste (BVD), as one of eight main departments of JuWe, is an enforcement authority and provides probation assistance. Through the enforcement of criminal sanctions and the individualized support of convicted persons, they contribute to crime prevention and thereby to social security. Important work goals are crime-free lifestyle design and social integration. Der Bereich Vollzug 3 is specialized in the enforcement of custodial sentences, outpatient and inpatient measures, and detention for convicted persons with a very high risk potential for committing serious violent and sexual offenses. Starting mid-November 2026 or by arrangement, we are looking for you as a curious and committed personality for our exciting legal audit (limited to 1 year). This is your field of activity ### • In-depth examination of issues from criminal and enforcement law, administrative law, as well as forensic psychiatry • Preparation and minute-taking of coordination meetings in correctional facilities and psychiatric clinics • Independent conduct of hearings of convicted persons in the enforcement institutions • Drafting of legal decisions (e.g., regarding enforcement relaxations, conditional release) and motions to the courts of law in post-trial proceedings This is what you bring with you ### • Master's degree in law; initial relevant internship or professional experience (e.g., at a court or an administrative authority) is an advantage • Interest in criminal law, forensics, and crime prevention • High social competence and enjoyment of interdisciplinary cooperation • Very good written and oral communication skills in German • Good IT user skills • Impeccable reputation What is special about the position ### • Versatile activity in an interdisciplinary environment (e.g., correctional facilities, psychiatric clinics, forensic therapy, probation assistance, social authorities, migration office, and direct contact with convicted persons) • Careful induction and support • Short internships in JuWe facilities as well as internal and external specialist events • Place of work near Zürich Altstetten station, possibility (after induction) to perform part of the tasks in a home office • Terms of employment according to cantonal guidelines, gross salary in the LK13/AS1 • The audit can partially be credited towards the practical year required for the bar exam (according to the ordinance of the Obergericht on the proficiency examination for the legal profession) Your application ### Take the next step in your professional career with us and send us your application via our online tool.
