(Senior) Underwriter Engineering Lines (CAR, EAR, MB) (m/w/d)

The position is aimed at both applicants with sound insurance expertise and applicants with a technical background and many years of experience who wish to contribute their expertise in an exciting and demanding insurance environment.

Your main tasks

• Analysis of submissions, including risk examination and assessment, as well as preparation of offers in technical insurance (construction, erection, machinery), including negotiations with customers and brokers
• Acquisition and underwriting of new business as well as expansion of existing business in the national and international industrial segment
• Administrative processing, implementation and monitoring of national contracts as well as international programs, including incoming inquiries
• Building and expanding as well as maintaining business relationships with customers and brokers
• Regular contact with the claims department for mutual exchange of experience
• Participation in cross-segment overall customer management
• Active participation in sales and product development tasks

What you bring
You bring one of the following profiles:

• many years of sound experience in the insurance industry, particularly in technical insurance, including further training at the Federal Diploma of Higher Education / insurance diploma level or an equivalent education or
• a completed technical training in the field of mechanical, electrical or construction (Federal Vocational Qualification, HF, FH or ETH) with at least 10 years of professional experience
• experience in the insurance industry or in technical insurance is an advantage for applicants with a technical profile
• knowledge of international insurance programs is mandatory for classification at the Senior level
• Impeccable German and English skills in speaking and writing; French skills are an advantage
• Good to very good negotiation, communication and sales flair
• Proficient user knowledge of MS Office products
• Strong teamwork skills while simultaneously working in an independent and self-responsible manner
