With around 1400 employees, Justizvollzug und Wiedereingliederung (JuWe) is the largest office within the Direktion der Justiz und des Innern and is responsible for the execution of sentences and measures as well as for the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of convicted individuals and commit effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.

The Justizvollzugsanstalt Pöschwies (JVA) is one of eight main departments of JuWe and the largest closed facility for men in Switzerland. With around 400 detention places and about 300 employees, it contributes to the protection of the general public in accordance with its legal mandate while simultaneously creating the prerequisites for the resocialization of incarcerated persons.

To strengthen our Integrationsgruppe (IG), we are looking for committed personalities as Supervisor / Caretaker, starting immediately or by arrangement. The positions are temporary until December 31, 2032.

This is your field of activity ###

• Care, occupation, and accompaniment of incarcerated persons in everyday life - in doing so, you are a reliable contact person
• You ensure an orderly daily routine as well as the consistent implementation of security and service regulations
• You participate actively in leisure and group activities and promote a structured and meaningful daily schedule
• You complete administrative tasks such as reports and the documentation of important events carefully and reliably

This is what you bring with you ###

• You have a completed vocational apprenticeship (EFZ), a (technical) maturity, a Fachmittelschulausweis, or an equivalent qualification
• Dealing with people is your strength; experience with mentally ill persons is an advantage
• Very good German skills in speaking and writing as well as other language skills are a plus
• You feel confident in using MS Office
• You also remain resilient, calm, and capable of acting in demanding situations; shift, on-call, and weekend services are well manageable for you
• You are at least 25 years old and have an irreproachable reputation (criminal and debt collection register without entries)
