Hematology and Medical Oncology have developed into independent, highly specialized disciplines in recent years. To meet this development as well as the increasing requirements for patient care, research, and teaching, the two specialist departments at Stadtspital Zürich will in the future be led by their own respective chief physician management.

For this demanding key position, we are looking for an entrepreneurially minded and visionary leader. In this function, you will be responsible for and shape the strategic, professional, and cross-site further development of hematology at Stadtspital Zürich and, together with the chief physician management of Medical Oncology, shape the future of a modern, university-level cancer medicine.

Tasks ##

• Professional, strategic, and personnel leadership of hematology at a center hospital with several locations
• Further development of hematology with a special focus on malignant hematology, cellular therapies, as well as innovative treatment methods
• Ensuring high-quality care for patients across the entire spectrum of benign and malignant hematology as well as coagulation medicine
• Responsibility for the further development of cooperation with Universitätsspital Zürich, especially in the area of immunological and cellular therapies as well as stem cell transplantations
• Design and maintenance of the interface between clinic and hematological laboratory diagnostics in close cooperation with the responsible institutes and specialist departments
• Partnership-based and equal cooperation with the Chief Physician Medical Oncology on strategic, organizational, and medical issues
• Participation in research, teaching, as well as the positioning of Stadtspital Zürich as a leading hematological competence center

Profile ##

• Specialist title Hematology (FMH); FAMH title or corresponding experience in the laboratory environment an advantage
• Proven expertise in malignant hematology with focus competence in the area of cellular therapies; experience in the environment of stem cell transplantations
• Sound understanding of the requirements for modern hematological diagnostics as well as the interface between clinic and laboratory
• Several years of leadership and management experience at executive level in a university or center hospital; leadership further training an advantage
• Experience in cooperation with university centers and interdisciplinary networks as well as in complex clinical cooperation models
• Strong social competence, negotiation skills, and the ability for collegial and consensus-oriented leadership in the two-chief-physician model
• Scientific profile with commitment to research and teaching; habilitation an advantage, but not a requirement
