TPA Intensive Care Unit Kleintierklinik Zürich

As a Veterinary Assistant (Tiermedizinische Praxisassistentin or Tiermedizinischer Praxisassistent EFZ), you will work in a small animal intensive care unit in Zürich and care for seriously ill and injured animals during their inpatient treatment. You will monitor intensive care patients, assist with diagnostic investigations and treatments, and work closely with veterinarians from various specialist areas. The permanent position is to be filled at a workload of 100% by arrangement and includes shift, weekend, late, and night shifts.

What to expect in this role

• Care, monitoring, and nursing of hospitalized small animal intensive care patients
• Observation of the clinical condition and communication of relevant changes to the veterinary team
• Assistance with treatments and diagnostic investigations
• Support in the care of inpatient patients
• Close cooperation with veterinarians and specialists from various veterinary medicine disciplines
• Collaboration in shift operations including weekend, late, and night shifts

What you bring with you

• Completed training as a Tiermedizinische Praxisassistentin or Tiermedizinischer Praxisassistent EFZ
• Interest in intensive care medicine and in the care of inpatient small animal patients
• Very good powers of observation and the ability to perceive changes in an animal's condition at an early stage
• Readiness to work in shift operations including weekend, late, and night shifts
• Careful, independent, and responsible way of working
