Senior AI Engineer - Pro-Code & Agentic Solutions, Microsoft AI Foundry (80-100%)

• 18 August 2026 • 80 - 100% • Indefinite duration • Zurich Within our Data & AI Solutions Hub, we design, build, and operate the enterprise AI platform for Vontobel on Microsoft AI Foundry, Azure, and the Power Platform. We are looking for a hands-on senior engineer who delivers production-ready GenAI and agentic solutions, transforms them into reusable models that the broader organization can rely on, and raises the engineering standard for everyone around them. This is a pro-code role at the heart of how the bank adopts AI responsibly, in a Zurich-based team that values judgment as much as technical depth. What would your role be? Design, build, and operate production-ready agentic and GenAI solutions on Microsoft AI Foundry, moving them from prototype to governed, observable, and fully supported production services. Translate recurring business needs into reusable reference architectures and "paved-road" models, so that each new use case builds on a secure and proven foundation rather than starting from scratch. Define the pro-code engineering standard for AI within the team, and mentor colleagues working in both pro-code and low-code environments (Copilot Studio, Power Platform) so that best practices spread beyond any individual. Ensure that the secure and compliant path is the easiest for business teams, by integrating enablement and self-service into the platform rather than absorbing demand as manual support. Consider governance, data classification, identity, and responsible AI guardrails as an integral part of the engineering itself - in a regulated banking environment, wise judgment on what not to build is worth as much as the ability to build it. What are we looking for? Demonstrable experience of having taken at least one agentic or GenAI system from prototype to production in a sensitive or regulated environment, including responsibility for its operation. We will ask you to explain to us what you built, who depended on it, the most difficult constraint you took into account, and what you would approach differently today. Solid foundations in pro-code engineering, with proven mastery of Python for AI and agent development, complemented by experience in production software in at least one of the languages C#/.NET or TypeScript. You code regularly and intend to continue doing so. Deep hands-on expertise in Microsoft AI Foundry and Azure AI services - retrieval-augmented generation, orchestration, evaluation, and agent design patterns. A familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and the Power Platform (including Copilot Studio) is an advantage. A first-principles approach to security, data boundaries, and architectural trade-offs, as well as the confidence required to advise a business team against a given approach when circumstances demand it. A track record of improving engineers and standards around you - through mentoring, technical leadership, or implementing practices at team scale - and not solely through individual delivery. The ability to learn quickly in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. We hire for your learning capacity and your judgment, not for a fixed list of certifications.
