Data Scientist AI (m/\*/w) 80 - 100% # At the Amt für Statistik und Daten, we actively shape the responsible use of artificial intelligence in the Canton of Zürich. Together with the Amt für Informatik, the Personalamt, and the Bereich Digitale Verwaltung, we develop intelligent solutions that relieve employees, improve processes, and create concrete benefits for the population and companies. As a Data Scientist AI, you will take on data science responsibility within the AI organization along the entire process chain: from the evaluation of possible use cases to the development of Proofs of Concept and the transfer of successful solutions into operation. In addition, you will convey your knowledge and advise administrative units on data science questions. Would you like to make the potential of AI usable for the Canton of Zürich? This is what you will do with us ### • You analyze concrete challenges together with administrative units and check whether and how AI can make a meaningful contribution. • You develop Proofs of Concept, for example in the areas of intelligent knowledge management, AI assistance systems, semantic search, and process automation. • You develop prototypes and improve them iteratively based on the feedback of our customers. • You prepare data, conduct exploratory analyses, and select suitable models and methods. • You systematically evaluate AI models regarding quality, robustness, and suitability for the respective use case. • You work closely with specialists from informatics, architecture, Data Governance, data protection, information security, and operations. • You support the efficient, secure, and sustainable transfer of successful solutions into productive operation. • You advise administrative units on data science questions and convey your knowledge in workshops, presentations, and other exchange formats. • You further develop methods, standards, and ways of working for the responsible use of AI together with the team. This is what you bring with you ### • You have completed a degree in Data Science, informatics, statistics, or a comparable subject area. • You have several years of professional experience in the implementation of machine learning projects, particularly in the areas of Natural Language Processing and generative AI. • You program confidently in Python and have sound experience with common machine learning frameworks. Experience in frontend development is a plus. • You are familiar with methods for the evaluation of AI models and can critically classify results and convey them understandably. • You have experience in developing prototypes and transferring data science solutions into productive operation together with IT specialists. • You deal responsibly with data protection, information security, fairness, and other ethical questions. • You actively tackle topics, contribute your own ideas, and develop viable solutions together with the persons involved. • You enjoy working with people as much as with AI models and data. • You communicate clearly, reliably, and appropriately for the target group. Your German language skills demonstrably correspond to at least level C2 in speaking and writing. You have good English skills.
