Head of Department 90 - 100% # The Staatsanwaltschaft Winterthur/Unterland in Winterthur conducts criminal investigations against adults in the districts of Andelfingen, Bülach, Dielsdorf and Winterthur. As of 1 October 2026 or by arrangement, due to the promotion of the current position holder, we are looking for your support as Head of Department (90-100%) to complement our team. Job Description ### In addition to conducting criminal investigations in the area of the StGB and secondary criminal law, your primary tasks include the management of a department of the Staatsanwaltschaft Winterthur/Unterland. You organize and lead the department in technical and personnel aspects (secretariat, assistant prosecutors and assistant prosecutors, auditors). You ensure a balanced caseload and regular exchange of information within the department. Engaged participation in projects and working groups also appeals to you. In your function as a prosecutor, you will continue to perform on-call duties and represent your cases before the cantonal courts. A competent secretariat is at your side. As the head of Dept. B, you are also, in the sense of specialization, a member of the "Raser-Gruppe" of the Staatsanwaltschaft Winterthur/Unterland (conducting proceedings regarding hit-and-run criminal offenses), which you also lead. Requirement Profile ### You have practical court experience as well as several years of experience in processing criminal cases, preferably as a prosecutor. You implement your very good knowledge of criminal and criminal procedural law in practice. You conduct investigations systematically and efficiently. In formal terms, you are eligible for election as a prosecutor according to the Zürcher Gerichtsorganisationsgesetz. Ideally, you possess a lawyer's patent, have completed the CAS Forensics course and bring leadership experience. Your willingness to further your education in the area of leadership and personality is a matter of course. Your personal strengths include absolute integrity, discretion and high resilience. Diplomatic skill in connection with assertiveness enables you to consistently implement your will to prosecute and to lead the department members respectfully and professionally. You decide independently and take responsibility, but are equally characterized by teamwork and collegiality.
