Zürcher Freilager AG is a company specializing in real estate investments and developments. It manages a total rental area of over 258‘000 qm. Its portfolio consists of Freilager Zürich and Embraport in Embrach ZH. To strengthen our team in Zürich, we are looking for a committed personality as an Accounting Specialist.

Your tasks

• Independent management of the financial and real estate accounting including subsidiary ledgers for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets (via Garaio REM and Abacus)
• Independent management of the accounting of a foundation including closing entries
• Monitoring and processing of all payment transactions, LSV
• Accounts payable process: coding, checking, and approving invoices in the digital workflow (via Nextway/ Kofax)
• Accounts receivable and rent collection
• Payroll accounting: payroll runs, daily allowance settlements, wage statements
• Closings: preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, accruals, bad debt allowances, account reconciliations, preparation for audit, cooperation with the auditing body
• Fixed asset accounting: capitalization of tangible assets and construction accounts, execution of depreciation runs
• VAT returns, annual reconciliation/calculation of VAT rates per property, withholding tax
• Heating and service charge settlements (Zürich and Embrach) in cooperation with property management
• Booking of special income and third-party accounting
• Maintenance of master data, personnel data, chart of accounts, opening of new financial years, properties, and service charge periods
• Optimization and further development of processes in accounting and finance
• Evaluation of accounting data, participation in budget and reporting
• Documentation of accounting processes and controls (IKS)

Your profile

• Commercial basic training with further training in the field of finance and accounting (e.g., federal diploma) or comparable training
• Several years of experience in the independent management of accounting up to the annual financial statements
• Experience in real estate accounting
• Advantageously also experience in the accounting of foundations, pension institutions
• Sound knowledge of VAT, payroll accounting, and social insurance
• Proficiency in closings and balance sheets
• Analytical and data-oriented thinking, affinity for numbers
• Independent, precise, and efficient way of working as well as high reliability regarding deadlines
• Willingness to actively contribute to the further development and digitalization of processes
• High sense of responsibility, discretion and integrity (when dealing with payroll data)
• Communicative and cooperative personality in exchange with internal and external bodies

IT knowledge

• Sound knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
• Very good knowledge of Abacus and Garaio REM
• Experience with digital document processing, workflow and archiving solutions
• High digital affinity and openness towards automation and AI-supported applications
