Responsible for Applications Department

The Faculty of Science (MNF) is one of the seven faculties of the University of Zurich (UZH). The faculty comprises 14 its own institutes and nine institutes jointly managed with other faculties. It holds a leading position in international research and teaching, which reflects its high social importance. The faculty's range of study programs extends across the entire spectrum of natural science and mathematical subjects. With more than 5000 students and the highest growth rates, the MNF is the second largest faculty of the UZH. The Deanery of Studies supports both students and lecturers, manages and coordinates all study-relevant processes, and serves as an important interface in the field of teaching to the other faculties and central units of the UZH as well as to universities in Switzerland and abroad. The area of responsibility for applications includes the processing of admission and other study-related applications, as well as appeals and recourses. Responsible for Applications Department Tasks * Coordination and processing of admission and other study-related applications, particularly complex and legally demanding cases. * Processing of objections, recourses, and procedures for granting the right to be heard, as well as the preparation of statements and draft decisions. * Technical leadership of one directly subordinate person, task distribution, and quality assurance. * Cooperation with specialist departments and central offices of the UZH as well as coordination with the leadership of the Deanery of Studies. Profile * University degree in Law (Bachelor or equivalent degree). * Professional experience in processing legally demanding applications or administrative law procedures; experience in the higher education sector and in technical leadership is an advantage. * Legal judgment, independent and careful way of working, as well as solution orientation and teamwork skills. * German language skills at level C2 and English language skills at level C1 as well as very good written expression skills. * Good knowledge of Microsoft Office; SAP knowledge is an advantage.
