Senior MQ Engineer in the area of Application Integration

When applications, payments, and external partners reliably exchange messages, our central IBM MQ platform works in the background. As a Senior MQ Engineer, you will work with us to ensure that this business-critical platform remains stable, secure, and future-proof.

You will take responsibility for the operation and further development of the platform - from high availability with RDQM through monitoring and automation to the connection of new applications. In doing so, you will work closely with application teams, business departments, and external partners, analyze complex relationships, and bring solutions into productive operation.

We are looking for someone who does not just process tasks, but thinks ahead, takes responsibility, and continuously improves the platform together with us. Your tasks

• Together with your team, you bear end-to-end responsibility for the stable, secure, and performant operation of our central IBM MQ platform.
• You design, operate, and further develop our highly available MQ infrastructures - especially in the environment of RDQM.
• You automate provisioning, configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management with scripting.
• You monitor availability and performance, analyze malfunctions, and ensure that problems are solved sustainably.
• You advise and support application teams in connecting new and existing applications to our messaging platform.
• You actively help shape architecture, security, operation, and resilience concepts and implement them together with the involved teams.
• You work closely with Business Engineering, business departments, application teams, and other technology partners.

Your profile

• Several years of practical experience in the operation and administration of IBM MQ
• Experience with highly available MQ environments - ideally with RDQM
• Routine in monitoring, performance analysis, and structured troubleshooting of productive messaging environments
• Experience in automation with at least one suitable technology, such as Ansible or Bash
• Willingness to take responsibility for a business-critical platform and to participate actively in its further development
• An independent and solution-oriented way of working as well as enjoyment of working in a team
• Very good German skills and the ability to communicate technical contexts understandably

Advantageous:

• Knowledge in Avada IR360
• Experience with CI/CD and deployment tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Nexus
• Knowledge in the Java environment, for example Maven or Tomcat
• Experience in the sensible use of AI-based tools in everyday engineering
